I’m Courtney. Today, let’s talk about where you should never go to buy underwear. I’m sure most of you have been to Victoria’s Secret. About 70% of American women buy their underwear there. Do you know that their sales last year reached 6.6 billion dollars? Before I became an underwear consultant at Nordstrom, I used to go there to buy underwear during my college and high school years because everyone thought it was a great place to buy underwear, right? But today, I want to tell you that Victoria’s Secret is actually one of the worst places to buy underwear. In this article, I will list four reasons and tell you why you should never go there to buy underwear again.

Victoria’s Secret is renowned for its sexy bras and underwear. What I mean is that their mission, marketing and advertising are all very alluring, aiming to make women feel sexy and charming, and to get men to purchase their products for their girlfriends and wives.
I don’t mind feeling sexy and charming myself. But if I feel that my bra is about to burst, the steel underwire is squeezing my chest uncomfortably, and I’m feeling unwell all over, then I can’t experience any sense of sexiness. How can that be considered sexy?
If you look through the product catalogue of Victoria’s Secret (VS), you will notice that their models even get the way they wear the underwear wrong. VS seems to prioritize making customers feel sexy rather than ensuring the proper fit of the underwear. However, I firmly believe that to feel sexy and charming, the first step is to wear well-fitting underwear.
Let me share some examples of ill-fitting bras that I found on their website.
1.The breasts completely protrude out from both sides of the bra.
2. The steel ring was pressed against her breast tissue.
3. The middle part of the bra, or the “heart-shaped area”, did not fit smoothly between her breasts, so there was a gap between the bra and her skin.
If your chest is exposed to such an extent, it indicates that there must be something wrong with your underwear. I know there are types of shaping bras available, but if the underwear squeezes your chest completely out, then the purpose of wearing underwear is lost. The function of underwear is to provide support and cover. Appropriate underwear should not expose your chest to such an extent.
2. The central part of the bra (or the “heart-shaped area”, although it’s not very prominent) does not fit closely against the skin, causing the steel band to protrude from the breast. This situation makes the bra very uncomfortable as it tends to shift on the body.
This sports bra is too small for this model. Her breasts are almost peeking out from above.
2. This bra doesn’t hide her side breasts.
3. This bra is not adjustable. Once it becomes loose, there are no hooks available to adjust it to the proper size.
This bra has obvious problems. Check if the lower part in the middle of the back of the bra is sliding upwards? This indicates that the lower part is too large. The tighter the lower part is, the better the support will be. The front and back of the bra should form a straight line. If the back bends upwards, it means the lower part is not tight enough.
